Daily Routine
- Talk about the day, the date and the weather every day.
- Keep practising washing and drying hands properly.
- Practise independent eating, using a knife and fork and cutting up your own food.
- Start the day with a ‘wake and shake’ from https://family.gonoodle.com
SeeSaw will be our main form of communicating Remote Learning.
Communication and language
- Practise name writing with appropriate letter formation – YouTube has videos for ‘Long legged giraffe letters’, ‘Curly Caterpillar’ letters, ‘One armed robot’ letters and ‘Zig zag monster’ letters.
- Share a favourite story with your child. Afterwards, ask your child to talk about and draw their favourite part of the story. Extra challenge: Can they label their picture with words from the story?
Phonics
- Play ‘I spy’ with initial letter sounds
- Play “Can you think of something that rhymes with…?”
- Share stories and rhymes
- Recap Phase 2 phonics sounds and tricky words using the following websites:

Maths
- Practise counting from 1-10 with 1:1 correspondence – touching an object as you say the number
- Practise putting numerals in order from 1 – 10
- Practise making groups of different objects, e.g. one group of teddies, one of blocks and one of crayons. Talk about which group has more, fewer or the same amount
- Practise ‘one more’ and ‘one less’ within 10
